This article is an example of my content editing work. I edited it during my time as the assistant managing editor of a travel magazine. For this article, I left comments on the questions I had as a reader along with suggestions for improving clarity to help the author better reach her audience.

For this particular project, the interviewee preferred clarity over a word-for-word transcription. After transcribing the interview, I preformed this copyedit on the transcription. In my edits, I focused on maintaining the interviewee’s voice while making the transcription easier to read.

This excerpt is an example of copyediting from a family history book that I edited for publication. With this text, I avoided making large changes and instead focused on correcting errors in punctuation and grammar. I also occasionally made changes to improve clarity. All of my edits were in line with my client’s specific goals for the text and a style guide.
